## Introduction
Nylon PA6, also known as polyamide 6 or simply nylon 6, is a widely used engineering plastic. With its excellent physical properties, processing characteristics, and diverse application fields, nylon PA6 plays an important role in industrial production, automotive manufacturing, electronics, and daily life. ## I. Basic Properties of Nylon PA6
### 1. Physical State and Chemical Structure
Nylon PA6 is a milky white crystalline polymer, usually in a semi-transparent or opaque state, with good thermoplasticity. Its chemical structure consists of repeating amide groups ([-NH-(CH2)5-CO]-)n, which endow nylon PA6 with excellent mechanical properties and chemical stability.
### 2. Mechanical Properties
Nylon PA6 has high strength, high toughness, and good wear resistance, capable of withstanding significant force and pressure. Its tensile strength exceeds 60 MPa, elongation exceeds 30%, bending strength reaches 90 MPa, and notched impact strength is also outstanding. These excellent mechanical properties make nylon PA6 widely used in applications that require high stress resistance.
### 3. Heat Resistance and Corrosion Resistance
Nylon PA6 can maintain good physical properties in high-temperature environments, being resistant to deformation or softening. Its melting point is typically between 210-220℃, decomposition temperature exceeds 300℃, flash point is greater than 400℃, and auto-ignition temperature is above 450℃. Additionally, nylon PA6 has high corrosion resistance to various chemical solvents and acids and can remain stable in harsh chemical environments.

Nylon PA6 also possesses good insulation properties and arc resistance, making it suitable for the manufacturing of electrical and electronic devices. This characteristic has led to its widespread application in the electrical industry, such as in connectors, sockets, and protective sleeves for wires and cables.
## II. Processing Technology of Nylon PA6
### 1. Drying Treatment
Since nylon PA6 easily absorbs moisture, drying treatment before processing is particularly important. If the material's humidity exceeds 0.2%, it is recommended to dry it in hot air above 80℃ for 16 hours or to vacuum dry at higher temperatures. This step can effectively reduce the moisture content in the material, avoiding bubbles and poor appearance during processing.
### 2. Mold Temperature and Injection Pressure
Mold temperature significantly affects the crystallinity and mechanical properties of nylon PA6 products. It is generally recommended that the mold temperature be between 80-90℃. For thin-walled and long-flowing plastic parts, a higher mold temperature is suggested to improve strength and rigidity. Injection pressure typically ranges from 750-1250 bar, depending on the material and product design.
